Chart of The Week: The Silent Bond Alarm

Great Ones,

It’s a strange time we're living in, the market can put fear in ya. Tech-bro CEOs, they make us feel inferior.

Greed runs through the congress interior? Is that Ren? In a financial newsletter?

When devils walk among us, it fits the criteria.

My friends, you’ve been hoodwinked, bamboozled, led astray, run amok!

Right now, Wall Street is executing an Ocean’s Eleven heist right under your noses. The financial media is in on it, playing corporate-sanitized elevator music to keep you pacified, while the “smart money” makes a mad dash for the exits.

Um, you’re scaring us a little here, man…

Good.

You should be at least a little scared right now.

Despite what the financial media is selling you, everything is pretty freaking far from alright … and the “smart money” knows.

While us retail investors are buying mega-cap stocks at all-time highs – spurred on by “AI AI BUY NOW CHIPS!” in the financial media –  the "smart money" is pulling a Watergate-style cover-up in broad daylight!

Trillions of dollars in institutional capital just sprinted for the safety of fixed income – I.E. they dumped stocks and bought bonds. It was the biggest capital rotation in years, and the media is deliberately sweeping it under the rug.

Let’s let the charts do the talking:

Chart 1: The State Street Risk Appetite Index

  • What Is This? So, State Street tracks the actual order flow, or buying and selling activity, of the world's largest institutional asset managers. Just the data. No sentiment. It tracks where the big money goes.

  • Why Is This? For the past five months, Wall Street smart money was aggressively buying stocks hand-over-fist. Then, in September 2026, they didn’t just stop. They slammed on the brakes (see the Red Line).

  • Greater Stuff Take Away: Big. Red. Flag. Institutional trading programs and fund managers don’t just drop what they’re doing and shift billions from one extreme to the other on a whim. A lot of important somebodies with a lot of cash just realized something, and they aren’t telling you.

Chart 2: The Institutional Holdings Indicator (The Heat Is On)

  • What Is This? This data is a breakdown of State Street’s tracked order flow. The bars extending down show equity or stock investment order flows. The bars extending up show fixed income, or bond, order flows.

  • Why Is This? The last two bars show an abrupt, and very sizeable shift from equities to bonds. In other words, Wall Street smart money went from aggressively buying stocks to aggressively buying bonds.

  • Greater Stuff Take Away: Another Big. Red. Flag. That smart money, those important somebodies, just told you what they think of Big Tech, AI, and semiconductors. What they said is that, right now, they prefer a 5.3% to 6% fixed return in the bond market over stocks.

The Silent Alarm Takeaway

I don’t know about y’all, but when the media refuses to point out this mega-shift in market activity, I take it kinda personally – Especially when I am being used as exit liquidity from tech-bro CEOs.

You’ve seen the charts, the visual evidence.

Tomorrow, in Thursday Throwdown, I am tearing into the exact, multi-billion-dollar weekly outflows behind this stealth-rotation.

Spoiler: The market just set an all-time record for weekly bond buying. I really hope you aren’t still blindly buying the S&P 500 at all-time highs.

Every rocket SpaceX launches runs on parts, materials, and tech from other companies — most of them public, most of them cheap. Our analyst named 3 that profit from the space boom without the $135 IPO premium. Plus a bonus 4th pick and a buy/sell playbook.
